The name of the island probably comes from the flower of abundant pomegranates
on its ground, which was the effigy of the ancient currency of the island.
KOS
The island of Hippocrates, father of medicine, Kos is famous thanks to its archeological site "Asclépieion" , great therapeutic center of Antiquity, testimony of a long history like for its plane tree of 500 years old named Hippocrate's tree.
